Puiforcat Art Deco nephrite jade, gold, and sterling silver ring.
An Art Deco ring comprised of barrel shaped green nephrite jade with yellow gold banding, in 18k with sterling silver shank. Puiforcat, France
The house was founded in 1820 in Paris by brothers Emile and Joseph-Marie Puiforcat along with thier distant cousin, Jean-Baptiste Fuchs. The Art Deco styling for which the house is best known was introduced by fourth generation family member Jean Puiforcat in the 1920s. The inventive silversmith and designer favored simple pure lines but also enjoyed blending sterling silver with precious materials such as jade, quartz, and onyx. The maker's mark consists of the initials E.P., after the Maison's co-founder, with a pen knife. Puiforcat was acquired by the Hermès group in the 1990s and continues to operate boutiques in Paris, London, and Shanghai.
Jade is often associated with nobility and wealth, and symbolizes
harmony and balance. This is a highly durable stone that has excellent resistance to breaking or chipping, making it ideal for daily wear.
